PRIVACY IN THE DIGITAL AGE: YOUR DATA AND HOW TO PROTECT IT
Tompkins County Public Library is pleased to host members of Cornell Tech Consulting for two workshops in December. On Wednesday, December 4, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, the topic will be “Setting up an Online Store,” and on Tuesday, December 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, the focus will be on “Privacy in the Digital Age.”
At “Setting up an Online Store,” members of Cornell Tech Consulting will instruct participants in the basics of setting up an online store, using the internet to start a business, and finding new customers. Participants will learn both how to set up an online store and how to manage it.
At “Privacy in the Digital Age: Your Data and How to Protect It,” members of Cornell Tech Consulting will discuss internet privacy and explore how Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram collect user data and use it to make a profit. The workshop will include techniques for protecting personal online information in a few simple steps, empowering participants in their online lives.
No registration is required for either program. Both are free and open to the public.
